The mission of the OSU Student Chapter of the SAF is to generate an environment advantageous to fostering professional development as well as providing opportunities to interact and network with other student members and professionals in forestry and other associated fields.

SAF has at least two meetings a month to discuss business and have interaction with other students. Once a month, SAF tries to bring in a professional forester to these meetings to speak about his/her job or current issues in forestry. Because it is important to take advantage of educational opportunities and to commit to community service, SAF actively particpates in Nature Day for Stillwater children and Earth Day on campus and has adopted a mile of Perkins road in Stillwater to pick up litter.
