NREM Extension Program
Welcome to the Oklahoma State University Extension Forestry, Wildlife, Rangeland and Aquaculture Web Site!!
Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service fulfills Oklahoma State University’s land-grant mission by providing people with information necessary to improve their quality of life. As part of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Extension is one of the three primary University obligations: Teaching, Research, and Extension. Extension is essentially any education delivered outside of the traditional university classroom setting.
Within the Department of Natural Resource
Ecology and Management (NREM), Extension expertise is available in
aquaculture, forestry, range, and wildlife science. Specifically,
NREM Extension enables stakeholders to understand natural resources
in order to effectively manage their resources on a sustainable
basis, and to increase productivity and efficiency through landowner
and manufacturer education. NREM Extension personnel develop and
maintain mutually beneficial collaborations with other University,
government agencies, non-government organizations, and private
entities to enhance educational opportunities and programs.
Additionally, NREM Extension promotes effective leadership within
the natural resources arena, which includes professional
organizations, commodity groups, and private entities, resulting in
significant impacts at the local, county, state, and regional
levels. Finally, NREM Extension provides natural resource
educational opportunities to youth through programs such as 4-H.
These programs are designed to promote good stewardship of our
natural resources and build the leaders of tomorrow.
