| Research Interests: |
| Focus on the ecology and management of upland birds, especially bobwhites. Current research involves collection of empirical data on the nature of the hunter-covey interface and the behavior of hunters and bird dogs. I have also started studies on the ecology and management of sand plum in the southern Great Plains. I have theoretical interests in the nature of natural resource science and have published a number of thought pieces on this topic. |
| Extension Activities | |
| I organize the annual Bollenbach Wildlife Symposium to transfer information on the ecology and management of bobwhites and other upland wildlife to landowners, wildlife managers, and agency people involved in wildlife management. Twice annually I published Quail News; past issues of this newsletter are available on my personal website (see link above). I frequently participate in symposia as an invited speaker, and each year I respond to dozens of questions about wildlife management via letters, phone calls, and e-mails. | |
