| Administration |
Ed Miller serves as the Associate
Dean for Academic Programs for the College of
Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. He moved to
this position after serving as head of the Department of
Forestry from 1989 to 1999. In 2006 Ed’s academic
appointment was moved to the newly created Department of
Natural Resource Ecology and Management.
Ed served as Interim Dean and
Director of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and
Natural Resources in 2005 and as Interim Head of the
Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering in
2000.

Academic Interests: |
|
Although currently inactive in research
as Associate Dean, Ed remains interested in water quality,
watershed hydrology and stream and streamside management
associated with forest management and forest operations.
Courses taught included forest watershed management, land
use and water quality and forest administration and policy. |
| Administrative and Professional
Activities |
|
The Associate Dean is the chief
administrative officer for academic programs in the College
with responsibilities for the College budget, faculty
teaching assignments, faculty development, curriculum
development and management, scholarship programs, student
recruitment, retention, and development, and the integration
of teaching with the research and Extension programs of the
Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
Ed is a member of the national
committee that developed the concept for the National
Academy of Sciences’ 2006 “National Summit to Effect Change
in Teaching and Learning”. Ed currently serves as Chair
Elect of the Academic Programs Committee on Organization and
Policy (ACOP) for the Academic Programs Section (APS) of
NASULGC. He is a member and Fellow in the Society of
American Foresters and Chair of the Oklahoma State Board of
Registration for Foresters. |
